Fire of Tierra Caliente

Experience the rare, achingly beautiful music from Mexico’s Hot Lands.

Join Paul Anastasio and Tina Pilione, core of Fire of Tierra Caliente, on a musical
adventure into the decades-old traditional repertoire from the states of Michoacán
and Guerrero. Fire of Tierra Caliente often invites one, two or three violins
and a second guitar, thrilling the room with breathtaking harmonies.

By turns dramatic, exciting and romantic, boleros, pasodobles, valses and many other styles comprise the music of Mexico’s Tierra Caliente.

This music is rarely, if ever, heard in the U.S. We hope you’ll join us for a celebration of the music of our teacher, the late violinist Juan Reynoso.
